Discovering our Native People: Visit to the Glenbow Museum

We visited the Stoney Gallery where students were invited to examine the exhibits while searching for specific artifacts. Students were organized in small groups each with a parent leader. Parent leaders acted as recorders for the students' thoughts as they examined each artifact.
In their museum packages each group had digital photos of a portion of an artifact.

Their job was to locate the artifact. Through discussion, they determined:

  • What was the artifact?
  • What was its use?
  • Why was it important to the exhibit?

Back at school, each group then presented their discoveries to their classmates.
