Turner Valley Student Story 1:
Turner Valley Dingman Well

Construction on me began in 1912.  A W Dingman and W.S. Harron and all 8 men put their heads together and planned how I would be built to get the oil above the ground.

My name was the Digman #1. Oil began to be produced on me in May 19th  1914 and 4 million cubic feet were produced daily.  I produced 500 to 600 barrels per day

One day the men were working on me and my pressure began to rise. It rose to 100 pounds per square inch. The men ran to safety as I began to explode with oil.

When World War II broke out they shut down my systems because the men had to go to war and everything was silent.
