Red Deer Lake Student Story 1:
School

The old school was wonderful. The classrooms were nice and warm. Outside the playground was big. There were two slides that kids could race on, swings, and lots of monkey bars all different colours.

Memories were left there. The whole school is brown with red bricks on the outside. You can see it when you are driving on 22X. The building was right across from the old curling rink.

One cool thing is that there are pictures on the roof from students. It was told that Red Deer Lake got its name by Natives and how a deer with reddish brown fur lived around the school.

An awesome fact about the old school is that the school has been standing since 1948-2008.  The old school was important to the RDL community by having a school for kids who lived in the country.
