Millarville Student Story 3:
Millarville -Mr. Alfred Crocker (AC) Leighton

The Leighton Center has its name because Alfred Leighton lived there at one time and surely he had a mountain view.  The Leighton Center is important because it is one of the most important artifacts of Alfred Leighton because it is where he lived.

The Leighton Center, well, Alfred was a very good painter. He trained for art in England and after Canadian Pacific Railway hired Alfred to paint the Rocky Mountains.

Alfred developed a sense of passion for Albertan landscape and became well known for his own depictions of light and color of the Rockies.

And when Alfred lived there he almost always was painting.

And now the Leighton Center is used for arts and crafts for kids.
