High River Student Story 2:
George Lane Park

George Lane Park has been a gathering area in High River since 1912. Now it is time to introduce George Lane.

The park is located in the center of High River’s downtown. It is a great place to have picnics and campfires. The land that I donated is meant to stay as a park for all to enjoy.

I have heard that you are an important person because you donated land to our town?

Yes, I donated the land, but I’m also a businessman and rancher. I have brought many head of cattle into this area and it has been a great career for me. I once brought ten thousand head of cattle by train to High River. This is a great land to raise cattle on.
