Answers We Found

How do fish see under water?
With their eyes. They have eyelids like goggles. They see through their eyelids. Clear eyelids.
How do fish breathe under water?
They suck in water with their mouth and push it out their gills. Water has oxygen in it. Gills take oxygen out of the water to the lungs.
How do fish eat? What do they eat?
Jackfish- don’t chew, they swallow whole. Observation- mouth
Rainbow trout- eat corn, cheese, fish food pellets
Sharks- jackfish, other fish
Goldfish- fish food flakes, worms, algae disks
How do fish move?
Seahorse- fins
Eel- like a snake
Stingray- “wings” – flies through the water
Jackfish- tail
Do fish have teeth? How big are they?
Bumpy edges. Sharks – thousands of teeth. Whale sharks- 30,000 there are other teeth behind to grow in when they break off. A thick bone might [break] teeth if they chew the wrong thing.
How do fish grow? What stages do they go through?
Little to big.
Fish – eggs – hatch – look ugly and little – eat lots – grow – fish – repeat cycle
Sharks- pups- eaten by mama
- eat fish – shrimp, crabs, seals, turtles, grow- sharks- repeats cycle
Something we learned:
We think Jonah was swallowed by a whale shark because they are really huge. Also, they swallow things whole and they don't hurt people.
