"You are a Ring-bearer, Frodo. To bear a Ring of Power is to be alone."

Galadriel to Frodo, "The Fellowship of The Ring"

Novel and Film Comparison

Which version of "The Fellowship of the Ring" or "The Two Towers" do you think best reveals Frodo as an unlikely hero?

The original books?

Or the New Line Cinema movies?

The Task

Choose any scene that appears in both the novel and movie version that you think clearly reveals Frodo as an unlikely hero.

Look closely at what's happening at that point in the story and especially at what the other members of the fellowship are doing that might be seen as heroic.

Compare Frodo's actions to those of other characters and list the qualities of the unlikely hero that he demonstrates in the scene you have chosen.

Present your findings either as a class presentation or a web page(s).
