Learning (to be translated)
Elders, students and teachers from the Saulteau First Nation, West Moberly First Nation and Moberly Lake School in north eastern British Columbia, along with Galileo Educational Network mentors, collaborated in creating the Meyopimatisiwin (Living a Harmonious Life) website. The students’ inquiry-based studies encouraged them to investigate how the Elders’ traditional relationships to the land, and within our ecosystems inform current environmental and cultural practices. Students from Moberly Lake School acted as interviewers, vidoegraphers, storytellers, biographers, artists, and photographers to capture the stories and information they were seeking. You will see some of their work throughout this website.
To facilitate ongoing learning and sharing, a community web space has been created to encourage students and teachers to share and post their ideas, photos, videos, and music, and to engage in dialogue with others about traditional and environmental knowledge in their communities. Content within this web space is accessible without a login. However, if anyone wishes to edit or upload additional content, they must first request a Ning account and receive approval from one of the participating teachers or Galileo.

Through the use of the planning on IO, the students will be able to create tasks for the project, such as Digital Story Tellers, Authors of ‘Moberly Lake Monster’ Book, Environmental Study of Moberly Lake, Information Technology Experts, and an Art & Photography Community Exhibit.
