Siksika Elder Story 4:

When I was your age, you can go to town with no money. You go to town; we had two China men that were helping us. Jackie's Cafe, Harry's Cafe. You go in there and then you tell them “I want to go to a show” and they will give you money. “Alright, how much do you want? A quarter?”

“Yep.”

“I’ll put your name down for a quarter.”

Because to go to a show was 10 cents. 15 cents you bought popcorn, pop, and candy. And that’s how those China men helped us. And if you did not pay your money back, you’re not going to get it. We go to those two places to bring back money, to save money.
