It is important that we retell the stories that we heard so they are not lost in the future. Maybe one day someone might wonder about what life was like and how things were named and there might be no record or story written down for us to read.
When we talked to the people we discovered stories that sometimes a book leaves out. It is more interesting learning this way because you get to ask questions. You find out about special places and special people who all have stories to tell.
I we didn’t have a name, we wouldn’t’ have an identity. Fro example if a place didn’t have a name, you couldn’t find it on a map, or drive to it, or know what was special about the place. There wouldn’t be a story.
