When we first started this project, I didn’t know that the names of the places in our little hamlet were not just randomly picked. They were named after people who lived here for a very long time or people who went off to war or people who just helped out a lot.
This project taught us more about history. We researched street names and found out that we actually found out about the families and this taught us about history.
It was cool to find out that the houses that we see every day used to be way different. One used to be a hospital the other used to be a post office and the other used to be a hotel. Now these houses are not just our houses they are our history.
