How
the Painting Got There By Coleman
As
I stepped from the narrow stairs I noticed something I had never seen
before. It was some kind of picture of a vase with flowers in it. I could
tell it was not done by paintbrush. The paint was thicker and stood out,
it was the brightest thing in the room! I was puzzled by how it got there?
Why it was there? When did it get there?
"Well Coleman, is there
anything new?" asked my grandpa.
"No." I answered
in a rather tired voice. "But I do have a question for you? Why is
that picture of the vase and flowers here? When did it get here? How was
it made? Who made it?"
"Whoa, whoa slow down
don't ask me, ask grandma,
"
"Grandma, there's a picture
of a vase and flowers in the front room and I've been in suspense since
I saw the bright, bold paint. Who painted this amazing picture?"
I asked in an interested voice.
"Do you know the famous
doctor that we have in town right now?" asked my grandma.
"Yeah, Dr.Morris Gibson,
right?" I answered more intrigued than ever.
"Uh-huh, and he's the
one who painted this, actually he did it in what's called pallet knife
painting!" responded my Grandma with a twinkle in her eye.
"I wonder if he will become
more famous one day and school children may learn more about Dr. Morris
Gibson?" thought Coleman in a dreamy way.
