reflections of Blackfoot colour and design | reflections on Stoney colour and design | artistry of the land home page

By Jessica

I am connected to the earth and animals, so I drew a Red fox. White, blue and red are the Stoney colours and I have used these colours. Every colour means something. In my design white means Creator, God, and is north. Red means changing seasons or blood and it is the east. Black means the center, earth's core, it is the south and orange is protection, it is the west. The circle is very important to the Stonies. If you sit in a circle, all are equal. My artistry has geometric shapes in some places and floral work in others because Stoney artistry has a mix of both. I think that nothing looks good without green.
