reflections of Blackfoot colour and design | reflections on Stoney colour and design | artistry of the land home page

I chose green for one of my colors because it reminded my of the green healthy grass. I chose red because it made me think of blood and the heart. I chose to make diamond shapes because they represent north, south, east and west. Every other diamond has a black line in the middle so that the black can shoot through the diamond beside it and fill up the next one with the color black.

My classmates thought a Blackfoot in his late teens would wear these colors and design. He would not be shy because he would be a strong warrior and would be brave. They said he would have courage and he would have respect from all of his tribe. I think he would be an old warrior almost ready to retire because of the black.
