The Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) curriculum provides students with a broad
perspective on the nature of technology, how to use and apply a variety of technologies,
and the impact of information and communication technologies on themselves and
on society. The ICT curriculum is not intended to stand alone, but rather to
be infused within core courses and programs.
As they
investigateThe

students will be using technology as a learning tool.
They will use technology in order to find information, organize information
and represent their learning.
Students

use and communicate information from a variety of technologies.

assess information accessed through the use of a variety of technologies.

organizational processes and tools to manage inquiry.

technology to aid collaboration during inquiry.

technology to investigate and/or solve problems.

electronic research techniques to construct personal knowledge and meaning.

terminology appropriate to the technologies being used at this division level

and apply techniques and tools for communicating, storing, retrieving and
selecting information
- comply
with the acceptable use policy of the school and school authority for Internet
and networked services, including software licensing agreements
- work
collaboratively to share limited resources
- compose,
revise and edit text.
- communicate
through multimedia.

and create hyperlinked resources.

and navigate a multiple-link document
- navigate
through a document that contains links to locate, copy and then paste data
in a new file

the Internet with appropriate software
