What Do Structures Do?

There are many different kids of structures, each designed to perform a particular job. A few examples are given here. To be successful, all structures however, must:

  1. Be capable of carrying the load for which they were designed without toppling over or collapsing, and,

  2. Support the various parts of the object in the correct relative position.
