HOW THE NARWHAL GOT IT’S TUSK

By Adam

Chapter One

The Catches

"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" said the hunters. "We haven’t caught anything all day." Just then a narwhal came up to breathe. One of the hunters threw his harpoon. It hit the narwhal. "All right!" said one of the hunters and one of the hunters pulled up the narwhal. Then the other hunter spotted another narwhal and he threw his harpoon at it and then another narwhal came up. One of the hunters threw his harpoon at it and hit it. After four more hours of hunting they managed to catch twenty narwhal. "What a catch! This is the best yet!" The hunters brought home the twenty narwhal.

Chapter Two

The Tusk

The next day the hunters were going hunting. Today they were going after caribou. One of the hunters spotted a caribou. Then the caribou started to run. Not looking where he was going, the caribou hit a walrus. The walrus fell down and one of his tusks fell off and landed on the narwhal’s nose. (He was in the water.) Then a big wave came and pushed the narwhal up in the air and he landed nose first on the hunters. From this day forward the Inuit never hunted too many narwhal.
