We just arrived in Iqaluit! As we landed I could see the airport was not as big as ours. It was snowing outside and I could hear people talking. The Inuit people speak differently than us. We got off the plane, it was cold coming off the plane. We got our luggage and headed home on a skidoo we rented. On the way to our new home, we heard dogs barking because they saw something and skidoo’s were zooming across the snow. We saw people as we traveled along the thick snow. We also saw buildings and houses as we drove into town, but of course the buildings are not as big as ours. When we got to our new home, we unpacked. I brought my favorite stuffed animals and extra clothes, I also brought my diary. While I was unpacking, I heard skidoo’s zipping across the snow. After I unpacked I went to the window. I saw the church, and the Northern Country Arts. Just then I heard my mom call "Kaylee can you get your boots and parka on we’re going out!"
"O.K." I yelled back, I went to the door and got ready and then we set off.
We saw lots of buildings but they weren’t as big as the one’s we have in Calgary. Then we got to the school I would be going to. It was really big, it might even be bigger then our school. We met lots of people. They were wearing parkas, kamiks, etc. We also noticed there weren’t any cars there! Only the government people had a car but there were taxi’s too. Meanwhile I was in bed. I heard wolves howling. I thought how wonderful it was in Iqaluit and how fun it was today.

This morning I woke up, and my mom and dad were rushing around the house packing everything, We’re leaving already? I wondered. I asked my mom why we were going home. She told me we were not going home we were going on a camping trip. "Can you go get ready we are leaving soon?" " After we were done every thing, we set off. When we were at our camping spot, we set up our tent, what we didn’t know was that our next door neighbors were in the area too!
We decided to go on a walk and that’s when we found out they were here too.
So the parents went back to my place and Alashua and I headed for the field to pick flowers for our moms. While we picked flowers, we could hear birds chirping. After we picked a lot of flowers with beautiful colors, we went home to show our moms. They were delighted to see all the beautiful flowers. Then we asked if we could go swimming, our parents said only if they come to the river with us. We got ready to go. Once we were all ready we walked down to the river. We caught frogs and swam in the river. In a half an hour we went home for lunch. After lunch we went to collect rocks, we found big rocks, small rocks, round rocks, square rocks and colored rocks. We collected a lots of rocks, by the time we were done, we probably had 30 rocks each.
We made necklaces out of the beads I brought and after we made necklaces, I had to go home for supper. After supper I got ready for bed. We slept in the tent, we heard wolves howling and owls hooting and finally with the help of the wolves howling I fell asleep.

I awoke to a brisk cold day, it’s almost the end of my trip in Iqaluit, so today I’m going to do something with my friend. I got ready and phoned Alashua, and went to town. The first thing we did was go to the art shop, there was lots of nice arts in there. The next thing we did was go for lunch, then we went skating. It was fun, we skated around the ice 28 times, after skating we went home and played in the snow, we built a family of snowman and we made a slide. After we slid down our slide a couple of times, we got called in for supper. After supper Alashua went home and I went to bed, it was fun today.
