Salena`s Family By Dannica

One beautiful summer's morning Salena was just getting out of bed when she heard her brother. Her brother's name was Jacob. Their mother was always the first one up. Their father, on the other hand, was not. Jacob put on his working clothes then headed outside for his work. Salena put her work clothes on, went downstairs, and started her work. Out side Jacob was just finishing feeding Betsy and David the horses. Next Jacob went out in to the field to trim the sheep. Inside Salena was just finishing sweeping. Her mother asked her if she could finish stirring the butter. Salena loved work her brother was not a big fan of it. Salena and her mother were always the best at the harder things than her brother and her father.

Jacob never ran to the well he would walk. When Jacob got to the well he pulled his sleeves up then started to crank. Every day when he cranked at the well he heard creak, creak, as the wood went round rubbing against the gray solid rock. As he walked side to side down the hill with two buckets on his back, drops of water would come slowly out of the buckets.

Father and the two horses went into the nearby forest to get some wood. As father was looking for a good tree he was getting pretty close to the middle of the forest. Their mom always told Salena, Jacob and their father not to go near there because there were bears close to the cave in the middle of the forest. Father was lucky that day and found a good tree without seeing a bear. With a chop, chop and a timber clunk the tree was lying on the ground helplessly. Papa hitched up the horses to the tree. As the horses walked it was like the tree was squirming and trying to get away. As papa walked out of the dark forest and into the sunlight he saw Salena, Jacob and their mother in the house. He loved the way he saw the grass dancing in the wind. How the house looked strong and safe. How happy his family looked. It was a wonderful life.
